AmeriColor Amerimist Airbrush Color .65 Ounce, Gold Metallic Sheen

The most important thing (to me at least) is that the color of this gold is great. It may look greenish in the bottle, but on icing or fondant it has a nice warm color, not too yellow, not brassy, just really nice. I also like the different effects you can get through layering. One coat produces a pearly gold shimmer, sort of like an Art Noveau enameled brooch. 2 + coats will get you a bolder solid gold look. It's not going to come out like polished metal, but the effect is still VERY pretty and impressive. I wouldn't recommend this paint for writing or drawing on icing or fondant (you have to stroke over it repeatedly to produce crisp lines), but it's GREAT for "highlighting" raised areas and adding a beautiful something extra.

First, I did not use this with airbrush. I painted it on and it worked just fine. I read a lot of differnt reviews about painting v. Airbrush. Yes, you can paint it on with a brush. The key is to use multiple coats but let each coat dry first. It spread really easily. I did not mix it with any vodka or extract because during my test it watered down the color and I wanted true gold color. At first I was perturbed by how small the bottle was but, I only used about 1/8 of the bottle for an 8 inch square double layer cake. Great value! This was my first americolor food coloring and I was very pleased. I think I may try more colors. The gold in the picture is three brushed coats of the coloring. Each coat dried in about 20 minutes.

I followed someone else’s advice and started with tan fondant and it worked really well with painting the gold on it. The C shows you what color fondant I started with, and the other pieces show what it looks like with one coat of gold on it. I did go back the next day, and put a second coat but it looked good with just one.

When your five year old insists he must have a golden dragon cake and don't try to use yellow mom because that's not golden mom...this is the stuff to buy. I researched several different products before buying this one. The others were either not edible (yikes!), tasted terrible, or weren't really golden. This is a true shiny gold. I tried a spoonful and it has no discernible taste. You get tons of product for a great price. The only downside is it says you can airbrush or paint. I found it very difficult to paint on buttercream. Ultimately rather than cover the scales as I had planned I wound up just painting accents along the rim where the paint pooled. May cover better painted on fondant I don't know. And looks like it would airbrush beautifully.

I was so dismayed when asked to make a silver car cake. I have tried several products but never managed a 'proper' silver. With this product I managed a very credible finish. Highly recommended.

Die Farbe ist mehr gelb als golden und leider muss man sehr oft drüber gehen damit er überhaupt deckt. nicht wie auf der Abbildung

È un buon prodotto come tutti quelli della marca in questione, voto tre stelle solamente perché non si diluisce come gli altri colori ma mantiene una parte solida che deve essere mescolata continuamente per avere un risultato omogeneo
