Good for a Sturdy Pole
Very pleased with this. Easy to assemble and feels well made. The base is covered in a plastic moulding so it won't scratch the patio or leave rusty marks. The tube comes with three plastic inserts. I think probably the largest one (on the left in the photo) is supposed to stay put, but in case you like life on the wild side, it can be removed. Diameters are:1. Metal tube alone: approx 51mm max diameter pole.2. With the first (supposed to be there all the time) insert: 49mm max diameter pole.3. With the second insert: 41mm max diameter pole.4. With all the inserts: 36mm max diameter pole.A nice feature is that the inserts have a tab that stops the end of the screw from damaging the pole. My wife likes bases that are round as it allows her to roll it around the patio rather than having to lift or drag it.

Solid rust proof good quality
Ordered it by mistake when ordering umbrella as found our table has a wood block at the bottom for an umbrella as we had a wall shade at the last house. The supplier agreed for us to return but then saw the returns form which said it was to be returned by POST given its 13kilos rather than lose 50% in postage at least as the item cost about £30 we have to keep it I guess as it was my error. That said if your looking for a nice clean weighty base in black you need look no further as nicely made and finished, so although cheesed off I can only recommend it as I did look at a lot before ordering, just should have looked at the table first.

Nice enough, but doesn't grip too well.
This is a nice, solid, weighty base. It holds our small (2m) parasol in place nicely enough, but in stronger winds, the tightening screw just can't stop the parasol from spinning! The problem is that the screw for tightening is exactly that - it's a screw. I.e. it has no real grip on the pole of the parasol. Unless you're prepared to put a dent/hole in your pole. If you can live with that, it does what it needs to.

It's sturdy
Easy to put together and holds my large umbrella. It's a bit bigger in size than my other one I had

Heavy base.
Heavy, low profile base. Assorted sleeve sizes. More stable than the metal base it was replacing. 5 stars

Very stable
Withstood high winds at the weekend without tipping over. Method of securing pole to base doesn't look very substantial but so far so good.

Solid and heavy
Very heavy and solid for a heavier parasol. Has 3 inserts into the pole connection part to adjust the width of the parasol pole. You will need to roll it into position as it weighs a ton! There’s no way any gust of wind is going to blow your parasol away.Excellent product!
