The Degu - Good Pet Guide

at first i thought this was a really good guide, but after a while i went online and looked at some websites for degu owners and realised that actually this book just does not give enough info. It's missing a whole lot on dietary requirements, as they require lots of extra food for forage. I also think it could do with a bit more on handling and behaviour, like getting to know all the different noises your degu makes. it does tell you quite a bit about their physical habits, like thumping feet, tail wagging etc, but not a huge amount on their noises, and they make lots of different sounds!so this is a good starter book, but be prepared to do a lot more research, as it does just give you the basics and there's much more to degu keeping

Although most of the information we need to know is available freely online, my twelve year old daughter likes to have this book to dip in and out of. She found the layout nice and the text interesting.
