makes the perfect spritz cookie
I had previously owned another brand of cookie maker but lost an important piece on it so it no longer worked. I figured it was less of a hassle to replace the whole cookie maker rather than purchase a replacement part. When I purchased this deluxe stainless steel one I had my doubts because the handle operation looked a little bit funky. My previous one did not operate like this. But I really needed a cookie maker quickly so I tried it. LOVE IT! I noticed a complaint in one of the reviews about it skipping - maybe she received a defective one because mine works so smoothly and does not skip a beat. I can pump out those cookies so quickly it's amazing and consistant. And of course there are wonderful designs to choose from. Many people use it for spritz cookies only on Christmas. I use mine year round. One nice thing about it is that I look like I've spent hours on these delicate little cookies when in reality it's quicker than any drop cookie and the recipes are simple, simple, simple! And if you dip one end in dark chocolate or white chocolate they look very fancy. You can add lovely colors to your cookie dough and produce a rainbow of possibilties. This cookie maker is a breeze to clean. The pieces come apart easily and wash with hardly any effort. On the side of the box it shows the finished shape of each disc which is very helpful because some of the discs have a design that look nothing like the finished product. It makes a beautiful little heart cookie that is wonderful for Valentines Day. It makes a perfect little Christmas tree or wreathe for the holidays. It makes cute little flowers or stars or just fun shapes that are not anything in particular. I highly recommend this cookie maker. It's so easy to use and kind of fun. The possiblities are endless.

So I was happy to find this metal one
Ah, finally a high quality cookie press, with metal parts that will stand the test of time. I've owned several plastic ones which didn't last very long. The plastic levers just can't take the pressing up & down & they break, usually when I'm in the middle of a big batch of cookies. So I was happy to find this metal one. I've had it for 9 years & it still works great. The key is to make sure that the dough is at the right temperature so it flows smoothly & quickly presses out one cookie after another. If it's too warm it sticks & if it's too cold it will be stiff. Sometimes if I am making a lot of cookies the dough warms up & gets sticky & doesn't press out perfectly. I find if I set it in the freezer for a minute it'll cool enough to press out perfect shapes again. Don't leave it in the freezer any longer or the dough will be too stiff & you'll need to let it warm up again, which may affect the taste. It comes with such a large assortment of discs that you can make so many beautiful shapes for holidays or just everyday. I have made sweet & savory recipes, both delicious & pretty. This isn't something I use every day, but since it is so easy & quick to make cookies I use it more often that I thought I would. It's easy to clean, take it apart & wash in hot, soapy water then let air dry on a clean dish towel. I never put it in the dishwasher. Also I store it in a tin to keep it clean. I highly recommend this press.

Works great, very durable!
I finally got to try this cookie press for my Christmas cookies. It works great, has a very sturdy feel to it (unlike other plastic cookie presses I've had), and I am sure it will hold up for many years. I do have to wash it by hand because the manual tells you not to put it in the dishwasher, but no biggie.. it's pretty easy to hand wash. I like the variety of disc designs. It is also not huge, so your hands do not tire while making your cookies. This is actually made by Marcato (at least the one I received was stamped Marcato Biscuits on it). The only thing I was disappointed about was when trying my usual spritz recipe (that worked with my last two cookie presses), the dough seemed too thick for the many holes in these discs and it was a real chore to get the dough out. I decided to try another spritz recipe (Betty Crocker's) and that worked wonderfully. I also tried a more buttery shortbread type recipe and that worked great too. So if your recipe doesn't work at first, try another. This press is wonderful to use, and it's so easy & quick!

How Fun! And Works Flawlessly
5-Star-Item ~ I love this Marcato 8300 Atlas Classic Biscuit Maker Cookie Press !! This Italian manufacturer has been in business for almost 100 years and is famous for their pasta machine. Their line of products is known to be super strong, high quality and reliable. I do also own their pasta machine that I purchased 30 years ago and still works perfectly ! The pictures I attached are from the very FIRST TRY! And the machine worked flawlessly. It is important to look on YouTube for the manufacturer sponsored video that shows how to make the right mix... I did follow the instructions from there and the results have been wonderful from the first try. The mix went through the machine nicely and had no issues of any kind whatsoever in dispensing each cookie uniformly on the baking tray. This cookie press also called in Italian " Spara-biscotti" is outstanding and worth the price tag. I give it a 5 STAR rating and I also recommend this item. It is EASY to use and ideal for beginners and also for the experienced chefs !

Returning product after spoiled cookies
We were willing to pay a premium for a premium product, but this was a mistake. The mechanism struggled, and then we noticed oil in the dough. It was basically falling apart. Ruined a batch of spritz. Going to try another premium item and hope for better. Avoid this one. Sorry.
