good book -mainly some of the more interesting articles printed in Vanity Fairthe last 10 years - good articles/photos though Colin Tennants shack seems theodd one out and considering he demolished a great house-Whistlers WhiteHouse to build an appalling block of 60's flats -bit of a cheek including himin any book of "great houses"

It is a great book and fun to look at, but the quality of the actual book is lacking. There were pages that were misaligned and mis-printed. I would not have expected that in an expensive book like this. Would have been five stars if not for this issue. Very disappointing.

Superb- as he admits, Mr. Reginato is a journalist, yet he writes with great warmth, insight into the preservation of these great, historic houses by their original families. A must-read, for those interested in the great English country houses, and is novel in that it focuses more on the people , the photography is brilliant, is not yet another "coffee table" book of English country interiors, Written with wit, heart and soul.

This is one of the very best books on historic homes and their inhabitants one could ever find!

Really enjoyed reading this and the photos were awsome.

This book has far exceeded my expectations! I love it! I thought that it would be exclusively about English decor but it is so much more than just that! I have not been completely lost in a book for a very long time until this one.

A spectacular book! Wonderful photographs of beautiful homes and interiors with an interesting and informative text - it made me want to visit immediately... Except that some (not all) are private homes.

Wonderful pics but print is far to small to make this book readable and enjoyableSo far very little actually read,Almost feel like asking for my money back!
