Product description 1998 remix CD .com The idea for this EP was hatched when High Llamas frontman Sean O'Hagan decided to collect on a few remixing debts from his musical friends. With cutting-edge names like Cornelius, Mouse on Mars, and Jim O'Rourke already confirmed, he enlisted some lesser-knowns--Schneider TM, Kid Loco, and Stock, Hausen & Walkman--and made a proper release out of it. Most of the guest remixers dutifully dissolve the Llamas' lushly orchestrated pop suites into twitching, beat-infused experimental works. O'Rourke's remake of "Mini-Management" is typical, as the original's brass arrangements are stripped away and the banjo lines are played through an abrasive filter. The results aren't always so fascinating, but Lollo Rosso does provide a nice reprieve from O'Hagan's typical Brian Wilson-like meanderings. --Aidin Vaziri P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Review While each remixer leaves audible fingerprints behind, the buoyant spirit of the High Llamas remains intact. -- URB See more
