Exceeded Expectations
I was going on vacation to San Diego a little earlier this year and decided to grab something that would both help with water temperature and wind-chill, as well as provide some extra sun-protection to boot. Around this time of year the Pacific's water temperature is in the low 60's, while air-temperature averages mid-70's for the highs (at least when we went). While this does not come close to a full-body wetsuit, it did make May feel like July, provided you're being pretty active on the beach. I spent a lot of time skim-boarding which kept my body-temperature raised. So this suit with the sun beating down on the dark colors and the neoprene-like fabric on the torso—coupled with what I'd suggest as even moderate water activity, I felt fine! Resting on the beach afterward in shade, I began to cool down a lot as the wind hit me. Also took some pretty hard falls, slides, and rolls both in and out of the water, to which the suit held up.Was out at the beach daily for 6 hours at a time throughout the midday. No sunburn on any covered parts, including the very light mesh on the sides, arms, and neck.CONCERNS:I cannot attest for the durability of this hybrid shirt, as I only used it for a couple of days. But I will say that I took some nasty falls and slides both in the water and on wet sand from skim-boarding, for which it held up fine. I'll update my review when I've used it more to report results. After 3 full days of use with repeated full submersion, it still has a lingering chemical almost tar-like smell to it on the main material.Understandably, this does not "wrap" around your body as a spring suit or a full-body wetsuit grips around your legs and groin. As such, there is a tendency for water to easily creep up through the bottom of the shirt and neck. As such, getting the right fit is very important because you want it as comfortably tight as you can get it. I felt they could've used a stronger elastic band around the neck and waist to make a tighter fit. The neck material was more or less loose around my neck with no elastic property. Nevertheless I'm overall very satisfied with my purchase, as it frankly exceeded my expectations. Definitely measure your chest and waist size rather than ball-parking the size.

The best idea for summer surfing.
This is the second time I have bought one of these 50/50 rash guard wetsuits by Hyperflex and I love wearing them in summer. They are really flexible with the stretch panels in the side and the smooth neoprene front and back. It's just the right thickness to be strong and windproof yet flexible enough to move super easily. The only problem I had with this particular vest when it turned up was that the sleeves seemed much larger than the rest of the body, the fit elsewhere was just right for an american 2xl. I would have given 5 if not for the fact that the sleeves need a bit of a "run in" with the stitching. I still will use it all summer without question.

Great!
I purchased this to mainly use as a way to keep myself warm. I am very slim and loose warmth easily even in Hawaii!I got this in time for a 2nd trip to Hawaii and this time I didn't get cold at all so this suit definitely did its job.I am 5"9 and around 140lb and small fits me just fine.Minor Cons:-It arrived with some wrinkle on it but is barely noticeable when it is being used.-The suit likes to ride up when outside of the water.

works well, but go a size smaller
Slips on pretty easy and keeps the chill off, however this is the first wetsuit that has giving me an itchy rash and my back. Maybe I am not used to polyolefin material I guess. I never had a problem with neoprene wet suits. Besides that its a good product

Not made for an athletic fit. Material seems good
I guess is good if you have the proper body shape. It is great at the shoulders but is too wide at the waist that make it not practical when in the water. Material seems good but understested for the reason above

best rash guard ever
Best rash guard ever, I stopped buying the thin polyester rash guards, this is my 3rd purchase, one as spare and one for my son, I can wear all day long and will not get chaffed skin. Wish they'd make a white color one as it does tend to get hot under the midday tropical sun

Buy larger size
Bought this form my son - bought a small based on size chart. My son is very thin and this was still tight on him. I'd go a size larger.

Seems good, a bit big
I normally wear a XXL rash guard, so I ordered it and had to return it for a smaller size. Even the XL seems a tiny bit loose on me. So when ordering note that these run big.Quality seems great, dove with it 8 times in Thailand and was perfect for 27-28c water. Lightweight, great concept. Gave mine away to a friend because it was too big for me and am purchasing another one in Large this time, hopefully it fits.

Good for casual swim
Nice fit and keeps me warm enough for swimming in local swimming pool. It is a bit too long for my taste.
