Unrefined Raw Shea Butter A Quality From Ghana (3 LB)

This came packaged well. It was soft and grit-free. It was ivory/beige in color just like it should be. It was perfect. I immediately cut it up with a knife and repacked it into used Shea butter jars I had been saving. And I also used a couple of freezer baggies. It made very nice, smooth and creamy Shea butter moisturizers. I had been buying prepackaged Shea butter in jars and had just gotten a jar full of grit. Yuk! This was a relief to receive and have it be so perfect for a much, much better price. Five times as much Shea butter for only seven dollars more than I paid for the prepackaged Shea butter. FIVE TIMES MORE!! It is more work and kind of messy, but I think the savings are well worth it. I would recommend wearing latex gloves so you don't get butter on everything you touch from the knife to the jars, door knobs, handles, drawers, etc... I wish I had worn latex gloves myself. I will next time! My only negative comment would be that it was disappointing that it was packed in two bags, one inside the other, both sealed and neither bag was resealable. I didn't know that when I first opened it. So right then I had to deal with it because I didn't know if it would harden or get funny if it wasn't sealed in an airtight bag or container. If I had known it wasn't in a resealable bag, I would have waited until I had a lot more time to deal with getting it in jars and freezer baggies. But still very happy with the purchase. I think it was quite a good find.

I just ordered this product. I had been using the junk shea products at the beauty supply stores off and on for years. Not real happy about it. Just did not know any better. I have vitiligo and have to use sunblock. If I don't my skin will burn immediately from sun exposure. Then all the different lotions, day creams, night creams, foot creams, hair oils, eye creams, skin brighteners. toners, peels etc. I have just retired, at 55, and need one product for everything. Tired of spending a small fortune on junk from Macy's. A lady gave me a small sample of your product. I am very pleased. My skin has not burned in the sun, and my man thinks I am soft, smooth and smell earthy. Great foot massages and well Enough said about that. Love the results of this product from head to toe. I have read about different ways of blending the shea butter to create body butter with different oils or butters. I am open to any and all suggestions that have worked for others. I really want one butter cream for everything. I have read many list of uses for shea butter-please help me out. One thing I can attest to, I have not used any other product. Is there a shampoo mixture that I could make?UPDATE: The customer service is wonderful. Had a small issue with the weight. I think the decimal point was the issue. It was corrected, product arrived quickly without additional postage. I will order the 10 pound of black soap and unrefined shea in the future. The products have worked for my daughters' eczema-a 20 year problem. The skin has begun to clear dark patches and smoothness is returning.

I read the reviews and because of the negative comments I was seriously debating on rather I wanted to order from this vendor or not. I received my package yesterday and it was perfect, it was a little more than the 5 lbs they offered which was a bonus. I've been using Shea butter as a body and hair moisturizer for many years(I'm a black woman for those that need to know). The color of the Shea butter was exactly as I expected it to be "ivory" meaning off white or beige.Some people say "it stinks" it does have a nutty, natural, earth like scent. If you are turned off by this maybe Shea butter isn't for you or adding some essential oils might be the way to go. Another similar butter to use is Cocoa Butter which tends to have a sweeter scent.I also saw some comments mentioning that it's messy and gets on your clothes. With Shea butter a little goes a long way so if it's leaving residue on your clothes you're using entirely too much. Also, Shea butter takes a little more time to "rub in" than your typical lotion.The Shea butter came in a box (of course) but in the box was a doubled up plastic bag (which didn't brother me) I just scooped it up with a spoon and transferred the product into two large plastic jars. In closing...I received exactly what I wanted and what ordered. There was no residue(dirt,sticks,etc.) so I don't plan on straining or melting it...I prefer it in it's natural state.

I just received my shea butter and I am a first time buyer of raw shea butter. It arrived much quicker than expected and it was packaged well (packaged in plastic inside the shipping box). I purchased this to make homemade lotion and the texture is great!Based on some reviews, I did melt the butter down and used cheese cloth to strain any foreign products. As you can see from the picture, barely anything came from straining this shea butter. Only some very small particles, which look to be from the shea nut itself. No bugs or anything unusual. In fact, that's a pure fact that the shea butter is organic and raw, which is what I wanted.It does get a little messy, as should be expected. When using your hands to take it out of the plastic, expect to have it all over your hands. This was fine for me, as I was rubbing it into my skin while making my lotion lol.I made the lotion with mostly shea butter, but also added 1/4 coconut oil and 15 drops of essential oils. After the mix solidified again, I whipped it with a hand beater and it is WONDERFUL!When I run out, I will be purchasing this again from the same seller. Thank you!Quick update: I added pictures of the final product so that you can see it is not very yellow. (As a reminder, I added coconut oil and essential oils to my lotion mixture)
