Spicy, FUN AF Rom-Com!!
I thought The Story Of My Life by Lucy Score was a fun/funny book that brought me back to my love of rom-coms! I've been burnt out over the last year on rom-coms and was slightly apprehensive about approaching another one, especially with the size of this one (it is THICCC!), but LS knocked it out of the park!I adored the fmc, who in their lifetime hasn't felt so burnt out that they're not able to get up off the couch and move forward because some dimwitted a-hole tried to ruin their lives slowly? Well, Hazel is doing the rotting on her couch slowly thing when her agent comes by and threatens her gently (can you love a secondary character as much as you do the main characters? Because I thought Zoey was a RIOT!!) and then Hazel has to figure out a way to jumpstart her life and her book before she loses everything.I hate jumping around in reviews because it feels like I didn't read it, but this book has so much fun stuff from the beginning I don't want to ruin it for anyone. There were pieces that had me gigglesnorting so hard I was crying, the meet "not so-cute" between Hazel and Cam will have your jaw on the floor, or at least mine was. I love, LOVE grumpy, grumpy guys, and I think Lucy writes them better than almost anyone! Brick, Dominic, and now CAM!Cam is the perfect grumpy-grump (iykyk! 😉), and right from the beginning of their meeting I just knew their relationship was going to be perfection - maybe! Cam is one of the Bishop brothers (there are three), and he is the grouchiest of the bunch, but we find out as Story of My Life goes along that he has the right to be. There is so much that has happened in his family, and Cam feels like he's let them down. And now he feels just sure that Hazel is going to go running back to NYC as fast as she can and ruin things for his family permanently. But you know, that never stopped anyone from having some really good almost hate sex!Y'all the spice in Story of My Life is ALMOST as HOT as Forever Never and By A Thread, it is JUST THAT HOT! So if you're looking for some really good spice that turns to "Oh my gosh, I fell in love" this IS that book! Hazel and Cam just have to get to the point where they trust each other first and that is a hard row to hoe. This is one of my favorite books for so early this year, but it gave me everything - the laughter, the tears, the friends and family, just absolutely EVERYTHING I love in a rom-com, especially one written by Lucy Score!! I cannot WAIT to see what happens next!

Cute and quirky
Another grumpy sunshine small town romance. I felt Lucy Score really gave us an insight on her writing process and how stressful it can be and how much procrastination can happen when people pressure authors to write more books. I feel a lot of authors express the challenges and the weight of their readers and publishers to produce more books when they started writing for the love of it. Also, what woman hasn't thought about impulse moving to a small town to just away from literally everyone and everything. This was really refreshing and funny. I found Hazel to be a tad over the top of quirky and naive but her mind just seems to go a 100mph and shes actually really adorable. And yes to Campbell and his brothers. Really excited for Zoey and Gage.

A Five Star Love Letter
Lucy Score has done it again! Story of My Life isn’t just a book—it’s an experience, a world you want to live in, and a love story that takes root in your heart. From the very first page, I was hooked, completely swept away by the charm of Story Lake and the irresistible, sharp-witted, fiercely independent Hazel Hart.Hazel is everything. Strong but vulnerable, guarded yet overflowing with heart, she’s the kind of heroine you root for with every fiber of your being. And then there’s the romance—sweet, slow-burning, and electric in the way only Lucy Score can deliver. The chemistry? Off the charts. The banter? Pure gold. The emotional depth? It wrecked me in the best way.And then there’s Campbell Bishop—the grumpiest, sexiest, most deliciously broody hero I’ve ever had the pleasure of rooting for. His gruff exterior, hidden vulnerabilities, and undeniable chemistry with Hazel made every interaction pure gold. Watching him slowly unravel, let his guard down, and fall so deeply had me grinning, swooning, and clutching my heart at the same time. But what truly made this book next level was the entire Bishop family—every single one of them stole my heart. Their dynamic, their love, their fierce loyalty—it added so much warmth and depth to the story. They weren’t just background characters; they were the kind of family you wish you could be adopted into. And I have to give a huge shoutout to Zoey, Hazel’s best friend and agent, because I adored her. She was everything you could ever want in a best friend—supportive, hilarious, brutally honest, and always in Hazel’s corner. Their friendship was so real and full of love, and Zoey’s unwavering belief in Hazel made my heart swell. Every time she was on the page, I knew I was in for a perfect blend of sass, wisdom, and the kind of ride-or-die loyalty that makes a book even more special. But it’s not just the romance that makes this book so special. Story Lake itself is a character—quirky, cozy, full of life and unforgettable townspeople that make you want to pack your bags and move there immediately. Every detail, every scene, every moment felt alive. It’s more than just a setting, it’s a place that feels like home. The town, the quirky side characters, the small-town charm—it all came together to create a world I never wanted to leave.I wanted so badly to finish this book, but at the same time, I never wanted it to end. That’s the magic of Lucy Score—she gives you a story so unputdownable, so deeply immersive, that you feel homesick for it the moment you turn the last page.If you love small-town romance, heart-tugging storytelling, grumpy-sunshine perfection, and characters that live and breathe on the page and heroines who steal your heart, Story of My Life is an absolute must-read. Five stars aren’t enough—I’d give it a hundred if I could!
