Does it Work on a 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 796?: YES!
Just bought a used 2012 Ducati Hypermotard and noticed it sounded ‘weak’ when starting. Sure enough, it had a ChromeBattery installed which was about 35cca short.. and the battery was dying. It would start very weak after being on the charger all night. I read these Yuasa’s work great but, being honest, I’ve never filled a battery before, so I was a little apprehensive. I followed the written directions, with one deviation. I removed the tape covering the holes on the battery, removed the acid tubes from the box and removed the black cap from the tubes. I then put the battery on a level surface, took the acid tubes, tipped them upside down and lined up the holes so the tubes’ male filler ports fit down into the battery’s female filler holes, make sure it’s level and press down. I tapped the battery a bit and observed acid from each chamber flowing into the battery. Once the tubes were completely empty (15 mins), I let it sit for one hour with the filler cap off. This was the deviation the written directions didn’t call for but it will extend the life of the battery. I then gently placed the filler cap over the holes and charged it for three hours with my 3a charger. Once charged, I disconnected it, let it sit 30 mins and tested it with a multimeter: it read 13.27 which was terrific. The Hyper fired perfectly the first time and has the right amount of cold cranking amps to ensure it starts the way she should. I’m very impressed with Yuasa and will def be using them again if/when the need arises. For those concerned with filling the battery yourself; don’t be. They make it really simple and it seems to work very well. ***UPDATE*** A few days after install, I took an 8 hour ride with multiple stops and the battery had zero issues - I'm VERY pleased.

Exact replacement for Ducati Monster 1200R
An exact replacement for a Ducati Monster 1200R. Hopefully these are still quality batteries. This one was made in Taiwan as I recall; I noticed it wasn't made in Japan last night when I installed it. I expect it will be solid, because they make good struff in Taiwan, too. I still wish it was Japanese. It ships dry with the acid separate, but putting the acid in is simple - pull the caps off 6 connected bottles, turn them upside down and press onto the battery to break the seal and empty the contents. It takes about 5 minutes to fully empty them bottles, then you seal it up with the caps you took off the bottles. No mess, no fuss. I charged mine to capacity before installing it. It also ships with two screws and 2 square nuts that go unde the terminals, giving the screws something to screw into. I'll try to remember to update my review if it fails sooner than I expect. I usually get 4-5 years out of a motorcycle battery because I keep them on tenders. I considered a LiFePo4 for the Ducati, but the battery tray is under the bike and near the exhaust, and lithium batteries don't like that environment, so I stuck with the trusty AGM battery and Yuasa.

True and Reliable Battery Performance and Capacity Claims
Enough of meaningless statements about how good people feel after spending money on a product! Let's get to the real facts. As an owner of a few Yuasa YUAM6212B YT12B-BS batteries and a battery analyzer, I can share some measurable details. In the four attached pictures, you can see voltage and current graphs of the discharging and charging processes for two batteries. The first battery was used on a motorcycle for slightly less than a year, while the second battery has been in service for over six years. All tests were conducted at reasonable temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, with no overheating during the processes. The batteries were fully charged according to the vendor's specifications before the tests. The first battery exceeded capacity claims by over 10% (11.06 Ah) during the discharge test. Judging by the graph, it could probably show even better results, but I stopped the discharge at a high cutoff voltage of 11.5V to avoid stressing it more than necessary. The second battery, after six years of service, still performs reasonably well, with a capacity loss of about 14% (8.62 Ah) from the nominal capacity. I have replaced it with a new battery to avoid any bad surprises. The new battery's performance was even better than that of the first battery, but I don't have the files handy. I might upload them later.

Fits like OEM. Requires common sense when filling with acid pack. Uses a AGM charger.
Perfect fit for 2016 Ducati Scrambler (Icon). Be sure to charge using a charger than can be used with an AGM battery. Requires filling the battery with the acid back, so use some gloves, safety glasses, mask and common sense when filling it (in a well ventilated area).

Ducati Desert Sled fits
2023 Ducati (Scrambler) Desert Sled Amazon says it does not fit, but as a direct part number replacement, it does. The directions come with the acid pack. You remove the acid pack cover to reveal the foil seals that are punctured at the holes at the top of the battery when you press it down. No spill. Let it drain for 10 minutes and use that cover to seal the battery. Pretty easy. I was reading 12.9v so it's ready to go.

Genuine Yuasa Battery, best in the business!
Yuasa is the best for lead batteries when it comes to motorcycles and powersports applications, and that is why all the OEM's install them from the factory. All of my motorcycles have Yuasa lead batteries for normal street riding, and they last forever, and this specific one is no exception. I installed this YT12B-BS in my 2002 Ducati Monster 620 ie. I have a Yuasa lead battery that is almost 10 years old and still working in one of my motorcycles. Top notch, never fails! Just be careful filling the battery with the included acid, and follow their instructions found on youtube for filling and charging the battery before installation. No complaints.

I ordered the battery on Sunday evening and it arrived at my door on Tuesday afternoon. It was the lowest price around and the shipping was free. What more could you ask for? Instructions for adding the acid (which was included) was straight forward and idiot proof. After a few hours on the battery charger my bike was good to go! It starts up much better now.
