Very good results ** 3 month update!
I have only been using this for 1 month. I love the foam application! Have used the runny liquid before and I hated it. It made my hair greasy, my scalp burn, and had to be applied 2 times a day. This caused me to stop using it. Only having to apply this foam version that is 5% minoxidil once a day really encourages me to continue using it. I apply it at night before going to bed and in the morning my hair looks fine. No greasyness whatsoever. I have always noticed almost instant results with monoxidil - even the 2%. With this 5% I am really excited to see all the extra little hairs that particularly grow in the front. I think it will take longer to see the results on the crown area. Unfortunately, that is where I need it the most. So for now, I am very pleased with how easily it applies to my scalp, causes no irritation, and is showing very promising results in only one month. I did read someone else's review that said to wash your hands in cold water before applying to the dry scalp. This does seem to help the foam not disintegrate so quickly by having cool fingertips. I will definitely keep using this. UPDATE 2/6/2015: I have been using the product for almost 3 months now and am still very excited about the new hair growth. I will never be a hair model, but I am no longer self-conscious about my extremely thin crown area. The front has filled in nicely and the crown area no longer shows bare scalp. I have before and after pictures starting from day one but you can only upload video to this. To save money, I did buy the Men's "Equate" brand 5% Minoxidil from Walmart, which is half the cost of this Women's Rogaine. I am sure the chemical make-up would be identical. The difference I am noticing by using the Men's version is that the foam seems thicker and messier to apply. Takes a lot more time to get it directly on my scalp while trying to keep it out of my hair. The Women's Rogaine is so light and fluffy to apply with no build up problem on my hair. I will finish up the Men's containers that I've already bought, but will probably spend the money on the genuine Women's Rogaine next time just because it feels much lighter on my hair. I also thought there was no way that slender light can would last two months. It actually lasted a little over two months, even though I am sure I was using more than the half cap full they recommend. 3/3/15 update: returned the Equate brand for men by Walmart. Started hating how it gunked up and dried out my hair. Bit the bullet and paid the higher price for the brand name made specifically for women. So much better than the generic brand. Still very pleased with the results and ease of use. I apply one time before bed each night. Hair still soft in the morning.

Already see growth
I am very impressed. I've been using this product for about one month once a day. I have fine, thin hair and the corner bare spots in the front. I can see hair growth already. I thought at first that I am delusional because there is no way since nothing has ever worked for me. My hair is pretty light but when it's wet one can clearly see the growth. Fine fair, however almost 1 inch long. I kid you not. I am sticking with this.

Hmmmmm?
This Amazon purchase is my 2nd Rogaine buy. The first was from CVS. I have now been using it for a little over a month. I do not notice any new growth but I have stopped shedding. There is one really weird side effect though. It has turned my right index fingernail yellow. This is the finger I use to apply it. It also removes nail polish from that finger. So what looks like innocuous foam is clearly pretty strong.

Still the best!
Me and my daughter have been using this for years, and the problem is is once you start you cannot stop, so the results or amazing. Everybody in my family has thin hair comment I'm the only one who's not practically bald right now. I attribute that to using this and nioxin every single day. This is not a product you want to use once or twice a week, it says to use it every single day, so I prefer using it an hour before bed letting it dry and then going to sleep. It is a little difficult to style your hair in the mornings if you put this in right before you're going to fix your hair with any kind of other substance. It's best to do it a couple hours before you go to bed so that it has time to dry and then you're not even worrying about it. As far as the price goes, it is probably the most expensive one second only to neutrophil which I have not tried. I have tried other types of minoxidil, but this is still my favorite.

Makes your hair crunchy and gross until you shampoo it out.
Horrible. Unless you have very short hair under 2 inches this is awful to use. It doesn't actually get down to the scalp very well and causes your hair to get all wet and matted together. And when you let it dry naturally your hair is crunchy as though you sprayed hairspray in it. I don't know if it regrows your hair because I can't even use the darn stuff because I can't even brush through my hair afterwards without worrying that it will break because it's so darn crunchy. I can't believe I spent all this money and it's going right in the trash.

some "sort of" Rogaine misconceptions
I started using Rogaine when I was in my 50s and I'm now in my 70's, so I'm going on close to 20 years. I've been meaning to write this review for a long time because I wanted to address some possible misconceptions people may have. #1. You have to use Rogaine every day for the rest of your life. While it is true you have to continue to use minoxidil if you want to keep your hair, you do not need to use it every day for the rest of your life. I'm pretty sure I used it every day for the first year and a half, but after that I noticed that even if I missed a day my hair didn't fall out; then if I missed a couple days, 3 days, a week. So for most of the time I've been using Rogaine, I've only been using it about once every 10 days. Sometimes, I'll go longer and I'll start seeing more hair in the shower. When that happens, I'll just use the Rogaine then go back to my every 10 days schedule. I would not recommend that you purposely skip days until your hair regrowth is firmly established, but once it is, you can try experimenting. Which brings me to "sort of" Misconception #2: If you go longer than two weeks without using Rogaine, your hair will fall out. Well, it will start to fall out, but it doesn't all fall out on Day 15. And, as noted above, once you restart the Rogaine, the hair loss will stop. (I don't know for how long of a period of abstention this will hold true.) Misconception #3: you have to apply the foam directly to the areas of hair loss. I found this was a misconception because I was only applying the minoxidil to the right side of my head since that was where I had noticed the thinning. Well, lo and behold, I started losing hair on my left side as well. I never lost enough hair on the left to make it noticeable, but it did tell me that the minoxidil was affecting my entire scalp and, in fact, my hair became super thick on the left side of my head. Which brings me to Misonception #4: Wait as long as you can to start the Rogaine. I did this and it was a big mistake. Before you start growing new hair with minoxidil, you will lose all the hairs that were going to fall out anyway. The further along you are on your hair loss path, the fewer healthy hairs you're going to have on your head and the more you're going to notice this initial hair loss caused by the minoxidil. I'd never thought I was a vain person before starting the Rogaine, but I probably cried every night for the first four months of use. I'm not proud of myself for doing so but it's a fact that I did. So, I hope all the above can alleviate some of the concerns people may have about starting Rogaine. My only regret is that I didn't start it earlier. There is also one tip I have: when applying the Rogaine, use a finger cot, The Rogaine never bothered my scalp, but my finger got sore either from getting a higher dose than any single point on my head or because of the friction of rubbing so many hairs.

Better than liquid
The feel on the scalp is good and not runny like the liquid one!
