Good, But Only For Non-Self-Sealing Style of R134 Cans
Works terrific . . . if you use with the OLDER can-piercing style of r134 can. Due to different size can threads, will not work on the current self-sealing R134 cans.

Great for newer vehicles.
To be fair, this item is probably excellent for the newer vehicles. But my vehicles 2000-2013, have the older connection. I had to purchase mine at AutoZone.

Effective AC Charging Kit for Workshop and Garage Tasks
I recently picked up this refrigerant charge hose kit for automotive air conditioning systems to support my workshop setup, and after several uses I’m quite satisfied with its performance. I’m giving it four stars—not perfect, but very dependable for what I need. The kit arrives with everything you expect: high-quality hoses, fittings compatible with R134a (and adaptability for R12 or R22 interfaces), and a control valve that feels solid and precise. Since I have a variety of vehicles—sedans, SUVs, older models—having a kit that bridges multiple refrigerant standards is a big plus. Setting it up was straightforward and it felt like a professional piece of equipment rather than a flimsy aftermarket part. In practical use, it has stood up well. I used it to service an older car whose AC system had been performing weakly, and the pressure readings stabilized nicely after using the kit to add refrigerant. On another job, the hose fittings sealed cleanly, with no sudden hisses or leaks that can happen with ill-fitting adapters on older service ports. For someone who spends time fixing cars or doing garage work, that kind of reliability matters. The hoses themselves feel durable and well-built. They are flexible enough to thread around tight engine compartments yet robust enough to hold up under standard workshop pressures without puffing out or kinking badly. The valves turn smoothly and the dials are readable, which means less guesswork and fewer trips back to the shop for calibration. Maintenance after use has been simple—flush, cap the fittings, and the kit is ready for next time. For me that means fewer delays and more work time. One of the best features is how well it blends into the workflow. Previously I had separate tools for different refrigerants or had to buy add-on adapters. With this kit everything is in one case, which reduces clutter and ensures I have what I need on hand. It’s a smart piece of gear for a shop that supports a range of vehicles rather than just a single spec. f you’re doing industrial or high-volume AC work on fleet vehicles, you might want heavier duty hoses or higher gauge gauges. But for home shop or light to moderate professional use, it punches above its price point and delivers results you can trust. In summary: this AC refrigerant hose kit offers solid construction, broad application across refrigerant types, and dependable performance in real-world tasks. If you’re looking to bring your automotive service gear up a notch or consolidate your refrigerant charging tools, this is a very good pick.

Simple gauge for unsure of accuracy
This is a very basic charge hose kit. It's not for measuring the overall functioning of your car's air conditioning system as there is no gauge for the high-pressure side. But it's adequate for measuring the low-pressure side when the air conditioner is on and for adding refrigerant. The two hose connections are designed for standard connections to the car and the refrigerant you buy at an auto parts store (or on Amazon). I had some difficulty connecting the hose to the bottle of refrigerant. Once connected, I noticed jumpy readings. Perhaps I was adding refrigerant too quickly. But at some point, I confirmed the car's cooling system was cooling better than when I had started and stopped adding refrigerant. Yet my low-pressure measurement didn't seem to change much. Unfortunately, I didn't have another gauge available to determine how accurate the gauge is. You can buy refrigerant with a built-in gauge on the bottle. However, it's more expensive than just buying refrigerant and this charge hose kit. And the kit is available for next time.
