Loving this one!!
Totally diggin this one! The other Home Depot deck top fire pits pale in comparison. It is HEAVY gauge steel and at 40 in around, it commands a big space. When you buy this one you should also consider buying an ash bucket and shovel. You can just carry this out to the trash can, it's heavy and an awkward carry at best - just buy the bucket! Also you may want to purchase the cover as there is no separate ash/log pan - this is all one piece. So protecting it from he rain is a must to avoid rust in the bottom. The top screen takes a beating hence that need protection from the elements. The coating burns off the top of the screen the first time it is used so KEEP IT DRY and you can avoid premature rust - but it will always come sooner or later. It's pretty deep so sparks are not that much of an issue when it is open.NOTE: If you put this on your deck A) make sure you have a big deck and B) put several flat cement pavers under the belly to shield the wood from the excess heat. I have been doing this for YEARS and it's great! At great night at the pit I ALWAYS water down the deck floor for a minute or two for an extra layer of protection.

Faded, brittle & ruined in six (6) months
Obtained it in September 2013. It went on easily, fit snugly and seemed to get the job done. The one I received did NOT have the "Landmann Super Sky" logo / lettering printed on it...which was fine with me because this omission didn't affect its usefulness and I generally don't care for owning items with big, bold advertisements for themselves printed on them. It is now April 19th the following year (2014.) This was admittedly a very harsh winter. The cover became faded and brittle. Last weekend we had a hailstorm, and the cover looked like it was in a gunfight. Ruined. While hailstones did it in, from further inspection I could tell it wasn't going to stand up to the balance of the season. So there you have it: six months. Watch out people; you're going to need to replace this thing twice a year. I grabbed an old camping tarp and fitted it over the fire pit with a few bungee cords to keep it from flapping in the wind. Very effective solution and much cheaper, too. Landmann USA needs to use a heavier, more UV resistant material. The pit is nice; the cover is substandard; take a pass on it.

Just what I expected, Looks and feel like it will last.
Just got it in April 2014. I had fire pit just like it that lasted about 6 years. I had no cover for it and the bottom rusted out. I got the cover for the new one and will try to use it religiously. This should give it another year or 2 of usefulness. Not sure how UV resistant it is. The elastic may not hold up long term. My old one had a draw string.

Gives Good Fire
Was considering getting a gas fireplace for my new patio but went with this to save on cost. Like it. Nice and big. Can carry a lot of logs. Protects from sparks with the top cover and where the cut outs are on the side are as well. I like that because I am a safety freak. I chose this over the $600 Frontgate model and am very glad that I did. This thing is handsome with the powder coated rust color. I stuck it in the middle of a bunch of rustic Walpole chairs and it looks great. The optional cover works perfectly and protects it from the rain.

Keeps the rain out!
What can you say... so far it covers the pit well and blocks any water from coming in. This should prolong the life of the firepit. If it does that, it is just the ticket. How it responds to UV exposure over time remains to be seen.

Fits Perfectly - Doesn't Last
It was a perfect fit and I loved it initially, but it lasted only through one year. I bought another one to replace it, and that one lasted even less than a year.

Too new but feels well-made.
Too new but seems nice. See how it holds up.

Fades and rips easily.
Purchased this cover in April 2012 when we purchased our Landmann fire pit. The cover started ripping within a year, mainly at the top of the screen dome cover, as there is a loop at the top. It also faded quickly. It was unusable to protect the pit after 2 years. I have been using a tarp since then...while the tarp is ugly, it does a better job protecting the fire pit. I didn't think to write a review until now, as we are now going to buy another fire pit cover and I wanted to warn buyers against buying this one.

Didn't hold up!
Initially thought ... Great fit and seems to hold up in wind; however, did not hold up to UV rays and deteriorated drastically to the point it is crumbling in my fingers after one summer.
