The best Oil for diesel engines. Period. Use it to know what I mean!. I 'm Pleasantly surprised!
I bought this oil for my Renault Captur 110PS diesel K9K engine. I have been running the mineral shell rimula r4 15w40 so far and wanted to shift to 100% synthetic. The one offered by Renault OEM is CF rated and costs 4.5k for a really outdated spec!! Amsoil turbo truck 5w40 is CK4 (the latest for a diesel oil spec) rated and is highly value for money. After driving for about 1000 kms this is my observation:1. Engine clatter and sound has greatly reduced.2. Pickup during cold starts is noticeably better and there are no hick-ups during flat out acceleration.3. Mileage didnot improve and that's not a problem as it was already around 20kmpl.4. I felt like the engine got rid of all its friction and runs like a knife on butter. My friend is using Amsoil Max duty signature series 5w40 in his duster 110ps AWD. It was his suggestion to go for this oil. Since it was out of stock and my service was already due, I bought this turbo truck variant.Seriously, I don't find any difference between the two as I drove bothe the cars (with same engine). My advice: If you are a regular in-city and highway (mixed user) user, just go for turbo truck 5w40. If you drive in demanding conditions like mild off roading, load carrying and up-hills quite often, then go for signature Max duty 5w40. It is not worth investing extra 1k for Max duty if you are going to drive only on smooth roads!

After 90,000 Km on Amsoil, this is what i think....
June 2018Ertiga ZDi (2013). Till date covered 1,18,500 Km and pampered with Synthetics only.Thought to give a chance to Amsoil this time based on online hear se/reviews about Amsoil (2nd or 3rd largest US Market Leader). After almost 8,000 km of Highway and City Mix driving this is what i can say:1. Amsoil 5w40 has reduced the engine note...(placebo effect...? No !)2. But vehicle takes little time to pick up speed..oil seems like bit heavy, may be excellent for bigger diesel engines like Safaris/Mahindras/Fortuners.3. Average KMPL reduced from 18.8 to 18.1 kmpl, as per MID...But again MID shown mileage isn't an accurate measure to validate oil's performance4. Oil consumption was noted, for sure.5. After 8,000 Km, oil has collected some soot particles but its not as jet black as in case of regular mineral oil. It still appears viscous and transparent. +1 for that...Engine Note ia still smoother...6. Delivery and packaging was sterling, typical of amazon standards.7. Overall, I don't repent but may be my selection of oil was not appropriate for puny 1.3MJD.Next time I may try Amsoil Signature Series (being ACEA A5/B5 compliant and 5w30 i.e. bit lighter oil for small DDIS engine) before taking final call on Amsoil...If anyone wish to point out anything or give heads up, please feel free...Update # Apr 2019Ertiga ZDi Odometer reads 1,39,000km. Its repeat purchase, so there is nothing new to write.Used Amsoil 5W40 earlier, then shifted to Amsoil Signature Series 5W30 (A5/B5) but again felt like to fall back to safety of 5W40 grade engine being high mileage.Received oil can on time but in flimsy plastic bag. Totally pinched at various corners. As usual very poor packaging and handling.#Update: Jan 2021Odometer now reads 1,62,000 KMRepeat purchase.Nothing new to write.Oil performance is consistent and as expected. But the packaging is deteriorated day by day. One canister was punctured due to poor packing and may be worst of the handling. Lost atleast 100ml of oil. Latest Pictures attached.#Update: July 2022Odometer reads 1,86,000 KMRepeat purchase. Now this is my trusty oil brand.Nothing new.Seen price increase from ₹2400 to ₹ 3200! Painful to watch Rupee depreciated against USD.#Update: July 2023Odo: 1,97,000 kmPrices are being jacked up continuously. ₹ 3400? Not done.6yr old Hyundai Verna 1.6 Diesel has been baptised with Amsoil 5w40. Let’s see how she fares.

Engine Feels sp good after changing with the new
After changing the old oil with this... Engine feels so light, smooth like butter and the sound is so mild... but after a few thousand KMs..... Now feeling is that magic still there or gone or its placebo effect with any new oil change.. Not sure.

The best Engine oil for Toyota Fortuner 3.0 / 2.8.
I've been using Toyota's Genuine 5w30 in both of my Fortuners (New and Old gen), By Watching the Reviews on Internet about 100% Synthetic Amsoil, I decided to Try the Industry Standard 5w40 Amsoil instead of Toyota's 5w30 Synthetic. The 3.0 D4D engine smoothly Revs. The Engine is quite smooth After the Oil change. It was the first time using Amsoil, So used the Amsoil Engine Flush too. Which I think added to the Better flushing. After 1500kms of use, I just loved the way the engine has changed it's characteristics, I think the oil Has good Oil Film strength that is why the metal moving parts are not making much noise. After the Oil change on my Old Fortuner decided to Try on the New 2.8 Fortuner too, And the engine reacted the same way the old one did. Very smooth and engine feels like its happy being revved. I personally Recommend To Shift to Amsoil Turbo Truck Diesel Engine oil. You'll definitely feel the Difference. And Guys if you are wondering That Toyota recommends 5w30 and Worried about Using 5w40 then the additional 40 weight doesn't make a difference in Heavy Duty Engines, If you have a lighter Diesel Engine like Duster, Ertiga, Swift , Creta then Go for the 5w30 Diesel oil from Amsoil Dealer in Pune.

Engine is running at its smoothest!
I am using this oil in my Safari Storme V400 for the past 6K kms now and never had I felt the engine run so smooth, in the past 4.5 years. I was running Castrol Magnatec earlier, which although is fully synthetic, never could make the engine so smooth. Diesel engines don't like to be revved, which is why they need to be running as smooth as possible or else they can be quite fatigue inducing, with the constant clatter. Even after long, fast highway runs, there's no difference in the engine behavior, feels smooth/fatigue free as ever. Comes in an ideal package also as Storme consumes 7.5L engine oil; so two packs work out perfect.Always check owners manual for engine oil specs recommended for your car/SUV. Going for a higher spec than recommended is ok but not the other way round..
